Cassiber - Beauty and the Beast

AVAILABLE ON CD AT LAST! The long awaited classic, award winning CASSIBER quartet album which includes the acclaimed 'In Eine Minute' where the ghost of free blower Albert Ayler is summoned up to appear alongside Schoenberg, an event which spills over into a heartrending interpretation of Brecht/Eisler's 'Und Ich Werde Nicht Mehr Sehen'. Elsewhere guest Ernst Stotzner delivers the nightmare 'Last Call' and you are invited to discover the mysterious 'Robert', a sound spectre whose rattling orchestral moan could cause sleepless nights.

Another highlight is CASSIBER's reworking of ROBERT WYATT's beautiful 'At Last I Am Free' which features heart tearing and gusty sax playing from ALFRED HARTH that is equally matched in strength and emotion from the other members of the quartet.

None of the material on BEAUTY AND THE BEAST was written or rehearsed, all tracks were recorded in real time and played live in the studio. The result is a record that still sounds fresh, passionate, bold and totally compelling. Before its time in '84 the Beast is back and ready to roar into the '90s.
