Descriptions, Reviews, &c.

"Throughout the long written piece and the four short improvisations that make up this record, clarinetist Joris Ruhl undertakes a meticulous and living sonic research, both precise and disorderly. By pushing instrumental technique into unknown territories, he hammers, twists, grinds and kneads a fragile and changing matter. This taste for a "poetry of technique" can also be found in the choice for an artisanal manufacturing of the cover. Thus, the pleasure of experimenting was prolonged by that of researching at the binding studio; and to the reed's vibration echoed the rough caress of the canvas, the feel of lead types under the fingers, the sound of beautiful paper being skimmed through. This item, which manufacturing was limited to 40 numbered copies, is available for purchase here."-Umlaut
