Artist Biographies:

DJ Lenar, real name Marcin Lenarczyk, is a composer of electroacoustic and musique concrète. From his website:

"My compositions are a musical collage created with the help of looped fragments of traditional, contemporary and concrete music. I do not have favorite styles. I take subjectively and look for sound in all genres of music and fieldrecording. When playing I use turntables, loops and vinyl records.

As a sound director, I deal with the entire film production process. From working on the sounddesign at the script level, to recording on the set and post-production finalized with cinema mixing.

I am the author of the sound installation being a part of the "Hotel Polonia.BudynkówŻycie po życiu" project which won the main Golden Lion award at the 11th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice. My concert in the framework of Ars Acustica (an annual merger of radio stations from all over Europe dedicated to the art of sound) was broadcast by Polskie Radio Pr.2 and retransmitted by the most important European radio stations. In 2013, at Koszaliński Festiwal Debiutów Filmowych "Młodzi i Film" together with the band, I received an award for sound for "creating a professional atmosphere for a big city" for the film Stacja Warszawa."

"Marek Czerniewicz (born on September 16, 1974 in Orneta), composer and teacher. A graduate of the Gdańsk Academy of Music in the composition class of prof. Eugeniusz Głowski (diploma with honors in 2000). His work is very diverse and includes many musical genres. Czerniewicz's output includes a number of chamber, choral, vocal-instrumental and electroacoustic compositions.

The composer is also the author of several dozen instrumentations and arrangements of classical and light music, which are the result of collaboration with many artists and bands. The work of Marek Czerniewicz was included in the repertoire of, among others, vocalist and theater director Andre Ochodlo, Atelier Theater in Sopot, Polish Chamber Philharmonic in Sopot, Cappelli Gedanensis, Wybrzeże Theater in Gdańsk, bands: NeoQuartet, The Smith Quartet, Atom String Quartet, Hevelius Brass. Czerniewicz's work has been presented in many centers in Poland and abroad (including Vienna, Tallinn, Budapest, Bratislava, Brussels, Brno, Berlin, Leipzig, Hamburg, Ostrava, Vilnius, Moscow, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the cities of the People's Republic of China) .Marek Czerniewicz's works were awarded and honored, the composer is, among others, scholarship holder of the London organization European Association for Jewish Culture (2002), winner of the Pomeranian Marshall's Scholarship granted to creators of culture (2006), in 2007 he received the National Defense Minister's Award for composition for a brass band. In 2014, he was the laureate of the Honorary Award of the Gdańsk Society of Friends of Art in the field of composition.

Marek Czerniewicz is also the author of theater and film music. He created, among others music for Marcin Bortkiewicz's numerous award-winning paintings: Portrait from memory (the film was third in Polish cinematography and was qualified to the prestigious Director's Forthnight section of the 65th Cannes International Film Festival in 2012) and Walpurgis Night.

From 2002, the composer began his teaching career at the Music Academy in Gdańsk and at the Pomeranian Academy in Słupsk."

"MIKOŁAJ PAŁOSZ, freelance cellist, improviser and composer, specializing in contemporary and avant-garde music performance. Mikołaj studied at the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. He won prizes at international music competitions including the Penderecki International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition in Cracow and the Lutosławski International Cello Competition in Warsaw. He appears regularly at the Warsaw Autumn, the Wrocław Musica Polonica Nova festivals, and the Composer's Portraits series in Warsaw. As a member of Netherlands-based Cello Octet Conjunto Iberico he has toured throughout Europe, USA, Mexico and South America. Mikołaj Pałosz is permanent member of the Warsaw Cellonet Group directed by Andrzej Bauer. His solo album Cellovator sponsored by the Polish Minister of Culture Young Poland scholarship program featuring contemporary compositions and improvisation was released in 2008 by DUX label. A recording of Mikołaj is included on a CD featuring the most inspiring music recorded recently in Poland described in the 7/2010 issue of the WIRE magazine. Together with saxophonist Ray Dickaty and drummer Paweł Szpura he forms the improvising trio Osaka Vacuum."
