The minimalist New York City performing duo of drummer/percussionist David Grollmand and saxophonist Nathaniel Morgan, using words, space, innuendo and tension to tell unusual facets of stories or create unique sound environments rewarding the careful listener. One of the most interesting pieces is based on the passing of Grollman's father, reflecting his final requests and words in whispers as Morgan uses the saxophone to create breathy sounds, as Grollman drags out tones on a single snare drum; the effect is eerie and disturbing, yet deeply fulfilling as a work of art. A band that's hard to describe, but well worth detailed listening.
• Show Bio for David Grollman
"David Grollman is a percussionist from NYC who performs freely improvised music. He performs in art galleries, tiki bars, and venues of curious ambience made more curious by his mongrel sounds. David bows, scrapes, blows, slaps, rubs, caresses, abuses, and generally tests the limits of his instrument. Anything is game. Anything may be a participant if the musical conversation calls for it. Artist, instrument, audience, and environment become ambiguous terms, conspiring in a theatrical exploration of chance dynamics and serendipitous exchanges."-David Grollman 10/11/2017
