Jean-Luc Cappozzo was initially a member of the Harmony Orchestra of his native town. During his military service from 1974-1981 he played in an orchestra the French Air Force in Dijon. Together with accordionist Serge Desaunay he interpreted folk music. After an encounter with Dizzy Gillespie, who invited him in 1984 to be part of his band in concert, he decided to become a jazz musician. In 1988 he received the diploma of jazz teacher and taught trumpet improvisation at the Academy of Music (CNSM) in Lyon. In 1991 he became a member of ARFI ; He played in various formations of the Association. He also worked with Louis Sclavis and Claude Tchamitchian. He played in the quintet Pentacle of Sophia Domancich , the quartet of Denis Fournier and quintet fragment et suite lyrique of Joëlle Léandre. With Jean Aussanaire, Rémi Charmasson and Bernard Santa Cruz, he formed a quartet; also he composed Du Vent chez John, which he performed with a string quartet. In the next few years he was also active with Daunik Lazro and Paul Lovens. Since 2005 he has been part of the Globe Unity Orchestra. Since 1999 he played in the trio "Apollo" and performed several duets with Joëlle Léandre and with Eric Brochard, drummer Paul Lovens, tuba player Michel Godard, with the singer Géraldine Keller, pianist Umberto Petrin, the bagpipe player Erwan Keravec and trumpeters Axel Doerner and Herb Robertson, some of which are documented in recordings.
Didier Lasserre was born in Bordeaux, France, march 1971. He started playing the drums at the age of sixteen, in order to live "something else". After learning some drums rudiments in the local music school, he has worked essentially as an autodidact, in order to find his own voice, based on a poetic approch. He teaches drums & leads improvisionation workshops & master-classes. He also works with painting, poetry, dance, super8 movies, photography. He co-creates the Amor fati label with Mathieu Immer. He has played extensively in France, Europe, Russia, Argentina, &c.
