"Jason Roebke's debut recording with his quartet Jason Roebke Combination is a wild ride through the environs of noise, bebop and free jazz. At once rich with angularity and beauty, the quartet dives head first into the program of six compositions that provoke rotating structural combinations and constant re-assembly of compositional material. The quartet is highlighted by Brian Labycz's modular synth, acting as percussionist, melodic foil and overall wildcard. Roebke has been defying jazz convention since 2003 with his electro-acoustic tigersmilk (Rob Mazurek, cornet, electronics and Dylan van der Schyff, drums. That group released 3 recordings on Family Vineyard Records. This CD edition is co-produced with the Chicago design studio Sonnenzimmer."-No Label
