"Karl 2000 plays music by combining elements of Tradition Russian Folk tunes with Albert Ayler enthusiasm, original compositions with the humor and playfulness of The Bad Plus, arrangements of solo piano repertoire for Saxophone-Bass-Drums and a David Cassidy cover of "I Think I Love You." Karl's primary influence is The Alexandrov Ensemble, taking choral music and presenting it in the power-trio format. With Daniel Rovin on tenor saxophone, Austin White upright bass & Dave Miller drums, Karl plays hard, free-swinging jazz with a passion for the masses.

Dave Miller is a drummer/composer/educator based in New York City. He has worked with: PET BOTTLE NINGEN (w/Nonoko Yoshida, David Scanlon), WORD GAMES, Martin Bisi, Matt Lavelle, Daniel Carter, Ras Moshe, Giuseppi Logan, Chuck Bettis, Rob Duguay, Matsumoto Kenichi, Noah Preminger, Blaise Siwula, Natsuki Tamura, Koh Ohteru, Tom Zlabinger and many more. Miller has performed at international festivals including Sapporo City Jazz (Japan), Umea Jazz Festival (Sweden) and The Vision Festival (NYC). Active in the Tokyo improv community in Japan, including the Spaceone Project, Project Fukushima and also participates in many Improv nights in NYC at John Zorn's venue The Stone.

Daniel Rovin was born in NYC but raised in Greenville, South Carolina before returning to NYC to pursue a career in playing the saxophone. This is Daniel's first CD as a co-bandleader, although Daniel has played with many well known Jazz Bands and musicians including Taylor Eigsti, Eric Harland, Oliver Lake, Jonathan Blake, Donny McCaslin, Rob Duguay, The Mingus Big Band and many more.

Austin White was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina before also coming to New York to pursue a career in music. Karl 2000 is also Austin's debut recording, but he too has played with many great Jazz musicians. He studied under the legendary Reggie Workman, and follows in his tradition of great upright playing."-Karl 2000
