"This is the second album of blacksheep, the group led by Ryuichi Yoshida. Interested members of the public came and witnessed the recording in its entirety. Having an "open recording" was expected to generate a certain tension and magic that could never occur in a conventional live recording. As it turned out, the performance far exceeded these expectations.
Except for a few changes, the tunes were performed in the order suggested by Ryuichi at the outset. In the first two pieces - soundtrack songs from sci-fi movies - an incredible tension arose among both the musicians and the audience. Ryuichi had originally planned to add overdubbing to these two songs and include them in the CD, but there was a feeling that they somehow took away from blacksheep's best qualities, and after some discussion the two pieces were cut.
In the second half of the session, the groove among the three musicians gained even more momentum, and the first two tracks on this CD are truly a document of that. "Sky Clippings and Spinning Fragments," a song also included on blacksheep's first album, was performed just after the first two [sci-fi soundtrack] pieces, when a rare sort of tension remained in the air. The result was a completely different performance from the one on that first album. [...]"-Numata Jun, from the liner notes
