Descriptions, Reviews, &c.

Bête Tête's first album, Jì Mò De (pronounced "gee mwa duh") was recorded in Jiangxi, Ganzhou, China during the winter of 2006, designed as a play on verbal structure developed in mandarin. It was created in a stream of conscience process where the songs appear in the order they were conceived, and to a large extent everything was recorded and written at the same time. Each song is a reflection on daily life in the city of Ganzhou and each serve as a complete predicate for daily life--sketches or poems of things happening around the artist translated through the way it sounded at the time. Down-tempo sequenced electronics reconcile with guitar through a two dollar microphone and the honesty of a click track. Jì mò de means to posses loneliness.
