descriptions, reviews, &c.

"For a current snapshot of where Wright and Coleman sit with their own playing, this is a great disc to visit. It should also make a nice intro to the relatively new voice of Kasyansky, who's also an imaginative player, well-suited to this particular trio."-Al Jones, Bagatellen

Artist Biographies:

"Grundik Kasyansky (Moscow, Tel-Aviv, NYC) composes and improvises live electronic music, sound installations, and sound for film, theatre and dance. He formed Grundik+Slava (http://www.grusla.com) together with Slava Smelovsky in Israel in 1995. The duo quickly emerged as one of the most respected experimental outfits in Israel. Their music is published through various labels in Israel and EU. In May 2006 Grundik released solo full-length album "Light and Roundchair" through the Portuguese label Creative Sources. Grundik's sound installations were presented at the Herzelia Museum of Art (Israel), Diapason Gallery (NY), Art in General (NY), CAVE (NY), Andrea Meislin Gallery (NY), Galleria Pack (Italy), Digitalis 2 (Canada) and Pixxelpoint 2002 (Slovenia). As sound designer he worked for numerous award-winning films and theatre productions. He received a Finishing Funds 2006 award from the Experimental Television Center."

"Seymour Wright - saxophonist, investigator, artist - lives in London. His practice is about the saxophone - music, history and technique - actual and potential; an on-going, rigorous and exhaustive exploration of the instrument. The energy of this learning is applied to various collaborations and contexts to access/share what he has called the 'awkward wealth of investigation'. His work is documented on two widely acclaimed self-released collections Seymour Wright of Derby (2008) and Seymour Writes Back (2015). As well as STEPS, his current collaborations include lll人 (with Daichi Yoshikawa and Paul Abbott), GUO (with Daniel Blumberg) and XT (with Paul Abbott)."
