descriptions, reviews, &c.

"Damian Nisenson Trio +3 en concert is the 8th release from Malasartes musique label, starring Damian Nisenson playing saxophones, Jean Félix Mailloux, doublebass, Pierre Tanguay, drums, Ziya Tabassian, percussion, Luzio Altobelli, accordion, and Denis Plante, bandoneon, during a concert recorded in Montréal in December 2007.

Argentinean sax player, composer, and actor Damian Nisenson moved to Montréal in 2004. He studied music in Europe, where he resided from 1977 to 1984. Back in Buenos Aires, he played and recorded with some of Argentina’s biggest musicians, worked in theatre and on television as part of his twin career in music and acting, started widely diverse music groups, and developed a singular voice and style, both inhabited by a cosmopolitan spirit.

Versatile and eclectic, Nisenson plays the whole family of saxophones and can easily switch between jazz and tango, rock and klezmer, African music and “musique actuelle.”

Since his arrival in Montréal, he has worked with Fanfare Pourpour, Chiave Minerale, Josh Dolgin, Soraya Benitez, Victor Simon, and Jean-Marc Hébert.

He leads his own group devoted to creating and performing music on the edge of contemporary jazz, “musique actuelle” and world music. In 2006, the Damian Nisenson Trio won the Franćois-Marcaurelle Award for “Revelation Show” at the OFF Festival de jazz de Montréal."-ActuelleCD (Ambiances Magnetiques)
