An odd rocking band with both pop and prog leanings that wouldn't have been out of place on Ralph Records in their day. Hailing from Chicago, the duo of Eric Lebofsky and Matt Espy use an expansive collection of rock styles and improvisation techniques to create off-kilter songs that keep a serious groove going, blending prog, psych, electronica, new wave, lounge, &c. &c into a great set of short songs. Eric's sax work and harmonized vocals add secondary voices as the instrumentation picks and chooses between synthesizers, distorted guitar sounds, electronic sources, bass pedals, organs, and who-knows-what. There's a lot of effective layering and studio trickery going on, so much so that you may never notice that it's only two guys creating all this aural excitement. With a lot of silly asides and some real passionate moments, it's obvious that these guys really love what they're doing, and the know-how to do it. Great stuff, cool digi-pack art work too!
