With a few lineup changes and the addition of Georgie Born (Henry Cow) on cello, this is an extraordinary album in the RIO tradition, and perhaps Stormy Six's finest hour. Macchina maccheronica became the name of the band at some concerts, and their devotion to this music shows in complex and forceful compositions. Their political leanings are strong, but an understanding of the social issues so important to this band aren't necessary to enjoy the music itself. Incredible stuff...
