Drake, Bob
13 Songs and a Thing

Drake, Bob: 13 Songs and a Thing (Recommended Records)
Label: Recommended Records
Released in: Great Britain

"The latest collection of twisting, turning instrumentals and songs, and another instant classic. If you didn't venture down this way yet, now is a good time to start. In a category of one, Bob undermines musical, technical and production norms with a breathtaking amalgam of broken rules and unimaginable musical logic. " - ReR Megacorp

Bob Drake (b 1957) has been playing lots of instruments with - and recording - all sorts of bands since the early 1970's. He was an important part of Denver's underground music scene from 1978 -1989 and a founding member of both Thinking Plague and Hail. In the early 1990's, when he was living in Los Angeles, he wound up engineering sessions with just about everybody (from Ice Cube to Shirley MacLaine). It was there he met Dave Kerman and became part of 5UU's. At the same time he started writing and recording his own solo albums. Since 1994 he has lived at his home studio in Southern France, where he has played on and recorded and/or mixed hundreds of albums by artists from around the world. He is also known for his definitive remastering of classic albums by Art Bears, Henry Cow, Cassiber and others.
