"The Wheel holds the material concerning the sound exhibition "La Fabbrica e la sua voce — trame sonore dell'industria tessile" (The factory and its voice — sound textures of the textile industry). The exhibition took place in May 2007 in the Fabbrica della Ruota of Pray (Italy), as a result of months of work, research and recordings. The listening path wound along various sound zones, typics of different and peculiar working environments: wheel room (track 1), weaving (track 2), work canteen (track 3) and cardroom (track 4). If the Fabbrica, with its rooms and its 'retired' machines, is able to hold out against time as an evidence of past work, we hope that our contribution can act as a memory of a sound landscape in which the man-machine relationship represented the everyday life for hundreds and hundreds of people."-from the liner notes
