This unprecedented and unusual 1968 electronic pop record from the original DIY electronics duo of Simeon and Dave Taylor stayed in Billboard's Top 100 for 10 weeks!

Silver Apples
Silver Apples [VINYL]

Label: Phoenix Records
Country: USA

The Silver Apples LP was originally released in 1968 on Kapp Records. The band, Simeon and Dave Taylor had both come from the The Overland Stage Electric Band, and united to take the electronic concept further with DIY electronics and rock drumming. The lyrics were provided by poet Stanley Warren, who met the duo at the Third Annual Avant Garde Arts Festival in 1968, organized by cellist Charlotte Moorman. The music is created by layering Simeon's oscillators over which Danny Taylor provided interesting beats and fills, creating short and intense electro-pop pieces with a subtle charm and avant-sensibility. The album unexpectedly created a hit with their track "Oscillations", which stayed in the Billboard Top 100 for 10 weeks! An astounding and unprecedented album.
