Negativland
Escape from Noise

Label: Seeland
Country: USA

Perhaps Negativland's finest hour, a masterpiece of cutting, carting and overall oddity - if you haven't heard it, you should! With a good sense of humor and excellent pacing Negativland spins your head around with a plunderphonic approach that uses samples, live recordings, rock, strange songs, a little girl singing, and a lot of good quality noise. Subsequent Negativland output is embroiled in their U2 litigation, but this still has a lightness and a sense of mirth that really works, making an entertaining and excellent release.
