LEK
Giant World Knowlege Bliss Control

Label: Fuzzworld Record
Country: USA

New York/NJ based world traveler Lek Padrusch and collaborators in an intense mix of instrumental rock, spoken narratives and songs covering rational, philosophical or absurd premises. Lek's influences are eclectic but generally tend to thick groove based rock that has a strong improvisational feel with good melodic overtones - fans of Sonic Youth or Psi Com will probably be very comfortable with Padrusch's approach. Information about the band is a bit difficult to unravel: from the online information the band members are referred to as 'Joe Boysenberry and his Philosophic Psychedelic Travelling the World on an Emotionally Melodic Perpetual Pendulum;' one interesting collaborative note is that Meg Baird, who sings on two of the songs, is also the lead singer of Espers. Lek's personal bio is loaded with unusual snipettes of information that revolve around but never quite touch on factual data. It's somehow fitting for this intelligent and sophisticated rock album, a strong release that continues to grab hold of the listener through repeated listens.
