Maestros
Precision Electro-Acoustics

Label: Organized Sound Recordings
Country: USA

Maestros is the duo of James Fei and David Novak, who create unusual and surprisingly warm soundscapes using simple, often antiquated, electronic and acoustic equipment without overdubbing. The group takes its name from their Maestro effect unit, which they've converted into a feedback machine.

Limited edition package , two 3-inch discs in a full color, gatefold sleeve (the artists threaten to release this on a single disc once the initial run is gone). Covers are individually silkscreened, and are not factory sealed. Liner notes include more details about recording and sound sources, but here's a rough guide.

1. Human Beat Box and Mixer with Feedback (4-track casette deck feedback loops with voice)
2. Fireside Chat (vocals with pick-ups attached to throat)3. Holy Land (casette deck feedback loop with reed organ)4. The Old Waves are the Best Waves (sax duo)5. Maestros of Alternating Notes (acoustic feedback loop fed through Maestros percussion effect)
6. Electricity and its Double (bassoon and modified toy)
7. Maestros of Mono (acoustic feedback loop fed through Maestros percussion effect)
8. Maestros Live (contact mike on throat and put through effects)9. Early Music (bassoon and alto sax without reed)10. Maestros of Voice (acoustic feedback loop fed through Maestros percussion effect)
11. Swapping 1's and 0's (bassoon reeds and modified toy)12. Maestros of beeps (acoustic feedback loop fed through Maestros percussion effect)
13. Maestros of March (sax duo with Maestro effects box)14. Thank you, Goodnight (Fed back telephone amplifier with effects box)
