"Blood Lightning is the third in a series of very particular BxC works in theme and scope, beginning with Three Sisters Who Share an Eye (No Fun limited LP series), and then Everyday World of Bodies LP (Ultra Eczema.) Ideas of drone, 'minimalism,' and human themes are heavily a concern, and unlike other recent and upcoming major works, BxC on these albums is kept intimate, primarily operated by C. Spencer Yeh. Instrumentation includes the current BxC trinity of voice, violin and electronics, surrounded by a whole host of other methods.

In recent years the BxC line-up both live and in-studio has included Robert Beatty and Trevor Tremaine (of Kentucky/Michigan-based maniacs Hair Police) and solo sound artist Mike Shiflet- Who all appear on the last track of this release. Burning Star Core began in 1993 in Cincinnati, Ohio where it currently resides with primary member C. Spencer Yeh. It is considered a project and not a pseudonym. Not married to any traditional line-up, method or sound, Yeh's eclecticism separates him from his peers. BxC will be appearing live throughout the first half of 2007, including a tour of US and Canada with Carlos Giffoni and Prurient, a weekend of festivals in Germany, a collaborative appearance with Zaimph at No Fun Fest 2007, and other individual events."-No Fun
