"At the time of this recording, at least four new English groups were heading their own distinct ways, each full of the fun and joy that comes when releasing fresh musical energy. (Full, too, of all kinds of new and merciless hang-ups) This group lived for five months prior to my leaving London for New York. We played compositions by Paul and Carla Bley, myself, and open performances. The written leads were the initial maps into the unexplored, the direction being toward the open, out, as in the post-titled City, and Enahenado (the Spanish for strange, translated for teh same and hell of it). Nisar (George), John , Tony, John, myself intensely engaged in five way Colla Voce. Feelings and ideas are never the property of one individual or group. We take from one another and give, willingly, unwillingly, knowingly, unknowingly. Our paid and unpaid performances in club, concert, and in the album are a willing, knowing return for all that has been given us"-Peter Lemer, from the original back cover
