Multilayered minimal improv based around various string and electro-acoustic sources, using encompassing and rotating noise floors over which he plays guitar and other string instruments. The pieces slowly build, occasionally making a seething and howling mix that reminds one of the work of Soopa improvisers, wrenching sounds dragged over odd sound constructions. Calgary based Cody Oliver has been working in the improv noise scene since the mid-90's, releasing several independent releases, recording with Ron De Jong and Arms Akimbo, and performing with Eugene Chadbourne, Chris Dadge, Ian Birse, etc. He can also be heard on Labile Music 13's compilation "Tensile: International Experimental Guitar Anthology."
