Tyranny, "Blue" Gene
Out Of The Blue

Label: Unseen Worlds
Country: USA

The official reissue of 'Blue' Gene Tyranny's first solo release from 1977, originally issued on the Lovely Music label. Tyranny is a Grammy-nominated composer and pianist who has performed on records by Robert Ashley, David Behrman, John Cage, and Laurie Anderson. This work shows Tyranny composing for a chamber rock ensemble with a cast of female vocalists, and himself on the Polymoog and RMI synthesizers. Tyranny created a song-cycle that reflects his intensely melodic and free piano techniques. Out of the Blue elegantly combines New Music and pop styles with classical references.
