Dave Burrell has forged his own unique avant-garde style of playing since the 1970's in NYC where he played with Albert Ayler, Pharoah Sanders, and David Murray but is also very accomplished in the music of Jelly Roll Morton. Billy Martin, best known for his percussion and drumming with his avant-funk band Medeski Martin and Wood and John Lurie's Lounge Lizards has been experimenting with many forms of experimental, African, jazz, funk and classical music."-Amulet
