Harth, Alfred
nu:clear re:actor

Label: Mother of Pearl
Country: Korea

Intense sound constructions from Alfred 23 Harth, the first disc is a set of reflections on the North Korean nuclear issue of the spring of 2003. The use of sound is rich yet relaxed, radiating an introspective sense of danger. The second disc is a sonic time-lapse and slow motion of NYC's 9/11 "twentyhundredone & its aftermath"; these pieces are active and include more rhythmic elements, evoking a frightening sense of the tragic events they portray. These are amazing compositions from a musician better known for his sax work, but who presents a clear and socially concious voice in the electro-acoustic world, which shouldn't be surprising for a member of the important and socially charged group Cassiber.
