He has also performed his original work at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival, the York Jazz Festival and was a featured performer at the 2011 APRA/AMC Art Music Awards. In 2012 Johannes composed the music for new music theatre production 'Melba', which underwent a development at Chapel Off Chapel in February 2013 and will premier at the WA Academy of Performing Arts on Nov 13, 2015. In 2013 he also worked on orchestrations for the new production of Shane Warne the Musical.

From 2007-2014 Johannes taught at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), lecturing in jazz arranging, aural, composition and ensemble. In 2015 he joined the ANU School of Music in Canberra and in 2016 accepted an offer at the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music, at Monash University in Melbourne. In addition to his teaching work Johannes is currently a PhD candidate at WAAPA, researching in jazz, collaboration and composition. He was also president of the Perth Jazz Society from 2011-14, a panel member for the Australian Council for the Arts from 2011-14, an 'Associate Artist' with the Australian Music Centre and is co-founder of the independent new music label Listen/Hear Collective."

"Performing collaboratively composed music that draws on the diverse stylistic interests of its three members, Artefact Agency has collaborated on live film scores and contemporary dance works. Creating semi-composed sonic structures, AA deconstructs the form and allows the music to unfold in unpredictable ways. This EP is the first of a series of EPs recorded by Artefact Agency, each exploring a slightly different compositional aesthetic."-FMR
