"At the same time risky attempt, masterpiece and manifest, Licht is a fine example of the radical, collective, demanding and disciplined approach of the best productions of Ernesto Rodrigues. Divided into seven parts entitled I-VII, Licht is a beautiful path to light (Licht in German). A work at the same time intense at the level of alternative techniques and parsimonious, a sort of hyper-measured pointillism sometimes on the verge of silence. The first four parts of five or three minutes consist of a series of approaches to discover the sound field and dynamics offered by the musicians gathered for a single concert. The fifth is a remarkable piece of resistance of more than sixteen minutes in which the group creates a succession of short diversified miniatures separated clearly and each time by a moment of silence which is an integral part of the music. These very different movements are contrasted with each other but with a real coherence. The whole sound potential of the groupis deployed in a random manner. Really fascinating."-Jean-Michel van Schouwburg, Orynx
