Angels On The Edge Of Time
Released in: Italy
A exceptional concert recorded in 1992 at the Angelica Festival Internazionale di Musica in Bologna from a quartet of Rock in Opposition luminaries Lindsay Cooper & Fred Frith (Henry Cow), Lars Hollmer (Samla Mamas), and free improvising saxophonist Gianni Gebbia. The music tends to more reflective improvisation, beautifully unfolding music showing the subtle skills of all 4 players. With the passing of both Lindsay Cooper and Lars Hollmer, it's wonderful to hear something new from tobth, and especially something as touching and exquisite as this album. The booklet includes concert photos and liner notes from Fred Frith, who reflects on the loss of Cooper & Hollmer. We are fortunate to have such a sublime document to reflect alongside him.
