Five open improvisations from the quartet of Israeli saxophonist Ariel Shibolet, viola player Nori Jacoby, drummer Offer Bymel and double bassist Alexander Frangenheim, recording in the Frangenheim's studio in Germany in 2011. All four players apply extended techniques, creating a consistent group sound of subtle and edgy momentum. The dialog is restrained, often yielding a sense that the players were in a murky sea filled with unusually vocal marine life, occasionally poking out of the sea or bumping into a reef to submerge once again. The dialog is unpredictable, ebbing and flowing throughout each piece, with only the final, and title, track building into a large slow swell that slowly dissipates into silence, leaving the listener satisfied on the shore of this group's unusual sea of sound.
