"A strong mix of kosmische electronics, heavy space rock, and deep analog drone. Sprawling, longform psychedelic excursions with a nod towards the experimental side of '70s Krautrock, but with roots firmly planted in 21st century strangeness. Guest musicians include Jeff Barsky (Insect Factory, guitar), Mike Shanahan (Reanimation, drums), and Jason Mullinax (Pilesar, percussion & electronics). Mastered by Anders Peterson. Original sleeve art by Caitlin Hackett. BLUE SAUSAGE INFANT is the work of Chester Hawkins of Washington DC. Since 1986, BSI has explored the many facets of psychedelia, drawing connections between analog electronic psych, kraut/space-rock, dark ambient, sample-plundering, noise, and drone. By evenly mixing digital with analog technology (along with toys, field recordings, and miscellaneous household waste), BSI attempts to conjure trance states that veer between bliss and paranoid tension, like a magic carpet ride gone magnificently wrong. Hawkins describes his music as "mean-spirited euphoria," which might go a long way to describe this release, BSI's first on vinyl. BLUE SAUSAGE INFANT has collaborated in recordings and live performances with Violet, Dave Newhouse (The Muffins), Pilesar, Thee Maximalists, Insect Factory, Gary Rouzer (Nine Strings), Reanimation, Scott Phillips (Gum Yummy, Sarcastic Orgasm), Lida Husik, New Carrollton, Stolen Government Binder Clip, Changes To blind, and Haunted Toilet."-BSI
