2006 recordings from this avant Serbian folk band singing in English, Serbian, French, German, Czech and Japanese, naive and intellectual approaches to songwriting.

CINC
Polyphonic Poetry

Label: Amorfon
Country: Japan

"A neo alternative folk band from Serbia, CINC was praised by Simon Raymonde (Cocteau Twins) for the previous album "Shine of Wot?" as "Beguiling". In this time, they made a unique enthusiastic album in the motif of classic poetries. Used poetries by a medieval poet Francois Rabelais (1494-1553), Francois Villon (1431 - after 1463), Goethe (1749-1832), Baudelaire (1821-1867), etc. as lyrics adventurously, but the songs (that are sang in English, Serbian, French, German, Czech and Japanese) are very refreshing. The members are changed from the previous album, now they are mainly four persons (Djordje Ilic: acoustic guitar, vocals / Luka Stanisavljevic: bass, vocals / Irena Vanic: vocals / Srdjan Stojanovic: violin, vocals). Male & female vocals on guitar, bass, violin, steel pan (Yoshio Machida played!), rhythm machine and percussions are well-balanced so that they music is natural & friendly very much. With funny stuffs like Karate terms that Irena Vanic sings, kazoo & mouth harp, humor and beauty are mixed intellectually."-Amorfon
