"For the MaiJazz festival in 2007, I was asked if I would be interested in playing with Han Bennink. I had seen him a few times and was always impressed. So of course I said yes, but when the time came, I was very nervous to play with him because I knew he could do so many things. The concert was okay, and he was very friendly so I asked him the following day, when I took him to the airport, if he would be interested in playing some more. He said yes and I managed to set up six concerts around Norway in March 2008. When we came to Inderoy, which is a small island, about two hours north of Trondheim, we were put in a hotel as the only guests. It was right by the fjord and the scenery was amazing. In the evening we were treated to a nice elk dinner before setting up the instruments. It turned out were were playing in an all-wood gallery with a nice warm sound. The gallery was devoted to the the art of Nils Aas, a very famous Norwegian artists who came from this place. So were surround by his beautiful art while playing. That whole day was just a beautiful day!"-Frode Gjerstad, from the liner notes
