"Volcanus 68 rein in the dense collage of scattershot sample manipulation for a deeper, more focused sound. In the recording of "2" the duo has incorporated the concrete exploration as just one element in a thick stew of drones and electronics that takes the listener even further out to the edges of the eerie tone swamp they call home.

On "2" Vuclanus 68 has incorporated much of their experience playing in live contexts over the two years since their debut release. Collaborations with such Bay Area luminaries as renowned bass player, Damon Smith; butoh dancer, Reece Carter; and experimental guitar maestra, Ava Mendoza; have brought a greater sense of control and more honed melodic sense to the music.

The duo gathers its wide sonic pallet from manipulations of multi-speed turntables and tape machines designed for the blind, prepared guitars, electronics and vocals. Sources as diverse as an electric toothbrush's assault on a jewelry case to a wooden ruler buffeting the spinning edges of a battered bike wheel can also be heard. Material is generated in long improvised sessions and then cut out and reassembled into the finished world."-Gigante Sound
