"An extraordinary interaction of acoustic and electronic sounds by two of Europe's top improvisers. The creation and detailed exploration of a timbral landscape unlike any other. In 'obdo' the musicians set up a unique situation whereby Thomas Lehn's synthesizer processes the sounds of Frédéric Blondy's piano, while simultaneously the piano sounds are fed into the signal inputs of the synthesizer, thereby interfering with and affecting its work. Both musicians are capable of dramatic, sometimes abrasive gestures, but in 'obdo' their playing is - for the most part - measured and controlled, though always with an underlying tension.

The material is taken from three concerts in France between 2003 and 2006, and has been edited and mastered by Thomas Lehn."-Another Timbre
