"Knob A Siesta makes improvised ambient - and sometimes noisy - soundscapes. The group consists of two drummers who have replaced the sticks with unconventional instruments, objects and laptops. Opposed to popular electronic music and regular pop music we take the time needed to build up our compositions - we do not force anything. We are very keen on contrasts and work with questions like computer vs. man, composition vs. improvisation, digital vs. analog, synthetic vs. organic.
Knob A Siesta has existed since 2003 and consists of Christian Skjodt and Casper Bach Hegstrup. In our sense of the words Knob A Siesta means "Take a break - and relax" - which is reflected in the music as well. We invite the audience to a meeting with experimental music that does NOT require a "trained" ear - but is free for the listener to interpret.
Both Christian and Casper are drummers in other very different bands - ranging from free-jazz to indie rock. They actually met each other at drum class but moved in different directions. Now they share a common interest in electronic music which come to life in Knob A Siesta.
Christian plays the drums in Dub band "Junkyard Productions" and Free-Jazz group "Moskus" plus he does lovely electronics in "Glöggerne" amongst others. Casper plays the drums in Alt. Country group "Cody" and indiepop band "GimmiJapan" and is about to make a soloalbum under the name "Good Luck Casper." "-Tonometer
