A re-issue of the classically weird, anti-pop album by the anonymous group The Residents with outrageous tracks that feature cartoonish tunes and voices mixed with oddly tuned instrumentation.

Residents, The
Duck Stab [VINYL]

Label: MVD Audio
Country: USA

"It is an understatement to say that The Residents Duck Stab twisted many heads with it's outrageous thrust at the very belly of pop music. Concise and considerably cracked, songs like "Bach Is Dead" and "Constantinople" use the synthesizer in ways that perhaps only Brian Eno or David Vorhaus had previously considered. But its the sheer joy of their perverse pop approach that makes this album one of the greatest gems The Residents ever produced. The standard package for Duck Stab is to pair it with Buster and Glenn, another EP release that only adds to the oddness. Dark and sinister songs like "Hello Skinny" or "The Electrocutioner" stand side by side with the bizarre "Birthday Boy" or the simply strange "Semolina" (by the sea shore). Euro Ralph has outdone themselves on the package, a deluxe double gatefold."-MVD Audio
