Russian industrial/electronic/free improv artists Alexei Borisov and Olga Nosova in a trio with Swiss experimenter Dave Phillips in works that pass from transcendental to insanely complex and halucinatory - play loud!

Borisov, Alexei / Olga Nosova / Dave Phillips
Borinosophil

Label: Monotype
Country: Poland

"The duo with Olga Nosova (drummer and vocalist mostly known for her work with Moscow fusion band "Syncopated Silence" and postpunk band "Motherfathers") is one of the latest projects of veteran of Russian industrial/electronic/free improv scene Alexei Borisov and noticeably very fast-developing - their mind-boggling and powerful music is already highly acclaimed among the music lovers not only in Russia, but around the world!

The collaborative project was formed in April 2009 in Moscow. Paying homage to both experimental tradition of Alexei's countless musical reincarnations and Olga's instrumental experience, the duo embrace elements of weird free-form spoken word psychedelia, live electronics, minimalism, free jazz, noise, heavy acid, electroacoustic, dub and far too many different types of acoustic torture to even bother mentioning all of them! The music is highly improvised, so naturally Borisov / Nosova is collaborating with various musicians, video artists, dancers, performers and poets from different countries, both in live situations and in studio environment: Anton Nikkila (Finland), Dave Phillips (Switzerland), Matthieu Werchowski (France), Dora Bleu (Canada), Thomas Buckner (USA), Tom Smith (USA), Jandek (USA), Anton Mobin (France), a_spirale (Italy), Ilya Belorukov (Russia), Sergei Letov (Russia), Korhan Erel (Turkey), Oleg Kornev (Russia/France), VTOL (Russia), Mitya Fedotenko (France), Alessandro Bosetti (Italy), Dennis Wong (Hong Kong) to name just a few.

Dave Phillips

Humanimalism, psycho-acoustics, composition, field recordings, sound rituals, audio art., experimental, existentialist, socially critical, voice, body, organics, electronics, video, DIY Dave Phillips re/searches and ponders existences and behaviourisms humanimalistically via sonic de/construction and psychoacoustics. sound as a means to activate primordial shared emotions otherwise hidden by civilised experience - sound is communication in direct & primal form, a method of understanding, therapeutical.

Dave Phillips's work shares, triggers existentialist ruminating and exchange, is a catalyst for engaging, insinuates awareness, muses on honesty, responsibility, intervention and laughter and delivers some form of release, a release that is liberating & purifying, a polemical catharsis that opposes the omnipresent reduction of existence, a ritual that desires to cast aside artificial, material and superstitious arrangements and constraints and puts us in touch with our sentient origins as much as with realities of the times we live in.

dp has been sonically active for over 25 years, has appeared on more than 170 releases and has played near to 400 concerts in 37 countries. born 1969 in switzerland, based in zŸrich. co-founder of hardcore-extremists FEAR OF GOD in 1986. solo-works as dave phillips/dp since 1987. since 1991 part of SCHIMPFLUCHGRUPPE (with Rudolf Eb.er/Runzelstirn & Gurgelstock, Marc Zeier/G*Park, Joke Lanz/Sudden Infant etc.). founder of OHNE in 2000 (with Tom Smith, Daniel LšwenbrŸck, Reto MŠder). since 2004 one-man-doom-project DEAD PENI.
