The trio of bass player Bert Turetzky, woodwind player Vinny Golia and trombonist George Lewis performing in 2003 at the Warren Music Center Studio, LA.

Turetzky / Lewis / Golia
Triangulation II

Label: Kadima
Country: Israel

"Whenever Goerge, Vinny I get together there is a joyous atmosphere with jokes, stories and just good vibrations. Our musical interaction goes together just like our social interaction. Add to this the excellent UCD recording studio with stellar engineer Josef Kucera and we knew this would be a special session.

One of the pieces that I always remembers was the ballad that was George's idea. He gave only one instruction, which was "let's start together".

Our trust, faith & love was evident immediately.

After we left I sat in my car & dreamed about doing this everyday. That was a dream that comes true each time I hear this CD."-Bert Turetzky, 2010

About the overdubbed piece, no.7:

"Bert thought it would be a good idea to have some duets on the Triangulation II CD. After I did a duet with George and one with BErt, I believe we played trio, then BErt asked me to reate some precomposed areas that he and George could improvise over, rather than just having the "traditional" trombone and bass duet: something a bit different, along the lines of the overdubbed pieces Bert and I create on our very first duet CD, "Intersections." My response was to use layered woodwind textures to create beds of souce that would be unexpected, and move the improvisors into compositional areas outlined by each segments' tessitura."-Vinny Golia, 2010
