Beautiful tonal improvisation from the duo of Paul Rogers on 7-string bass and Paul Dunmall on soprano saxophone and bass clarinet, intense and thoughtful music from two masters.

Rogers / Dunmall
Distant

Label: FMR
Country: UK

"Distant is a continuation of Far. Building up the layers slowly (all in the middle to top ranges of our instruments) by multitracking, which builds in intensity, again all improvised. The unexpected ending of low notes for 15 minutes helps you explore the depths of ones being, it a form of meditation.

Of course, these liner notes are only my thoughts on the music. I know Paul Rogers prefers absolutely to say nothing about the music and leaves the listener to make up there own minds on what the music means to them and I respect that view completely, and probably in all honesty, that is how I feel as well, but also, sometimes a small description may help some listeners..."-Paul Dunmall
