"Lebanese-born and living in France, Christine Sehnaoui Abdelnour started in 1997 her own autodidact study of sound experimentation on the alto saxophone, creating quickly a strong personal language on how to make music close to electronic tones on an acoustic instrument. With deep sensitivity, she has expanded new techniques and complex patterns, exploring the microtonal aspects of the saxophone or its high-pitched tone.
Pascal Battus works out his own instrumental practice around what he named: "surrounded guitar" (an electric guitar on a table + a contact-microphone + various objects + electronics), percussion (amplified or acoustic objects) or guitar pick-up. On Ichnites, he plays rotating surfaces. They consist of small motorised components from inside old Walkmans, used as exciters on different objects reacting as vibrators and resonators : sheets of paper, cardboards, plastic, wooden, metal or polystyrene pieces, and stems connected to cymbals."-Potlatch
