Brazilian guitarist Bicudo and wind player Sean Bergin meet in a musical friendship that brings together Satie, Pixinguinha and Coltrane on the same record!

Bergin, Sean / Bicudo, Rogerio
Tale of Three City's

Label: Pingo
Country: The Netherlands

"We've known each other for years, and did not play music together because of various reasons-but in the winter of 2007 we met in the local café and started talking about music and life "let's try something together". So we go to Rogério's place and listen to some music- traditional and originals from Brazil-beautiful music-then I bring some South African sounds, and start practicing around the kitchen table, then we go to the local café to talk about the music, we think of some changes in-timing-intro's-harmonies-ect. Then we go back to the kitchen table and practice. This became the start of a musical friendship that led to the making of this cd. Tale Of Three City's. Rogério from Rio - Sean from Durban - in Amsterdam. Rogério Bicudo."-Sean Bergin, from the liner notes

The encounter with Sean was in many ways very inspiring. I'm glad we finally joined our musical luggage, each of us added his own flavour to the pieces within a very good understanding, it was a most pleasant experience. The freedom we have playing in this formation, made it possible to unite Satie, Pixinguinha and Coltrane on the same record, an idea I've been playing with for some time. Hope you enjoy it!"-Rogério Bicud, from the liner notes
