This weekend is the US Federal Holiday known as "Labor Day", intended to celebrate those who dedicate their life to work, and, theoretically, take a break and a mutual deep breath as a culture. As with last year, the irony of this day must be impressed upon those who have been forced out of their jobs due to the pandemic and who are waiting for whatever the next chapter in this unprecedented story will be. For those in the music industry, and in the related entertainment and service industries, this has been a particularly difficult time. After what looked like an exit from lockdowns and restrictions, once again concerts have been cancelled, venues closed, bars and restaurants on hiatus or restriction. Our heart goes out to those related to music culture, especially those involved with the non-commercial, innovative and creative musics that we are so immersed in. With hope and luck we may see an end to this period soon, but in the meantime we should all support those who can not work.

To that end we run our annual Labor Day Sale, helping to promote and sell recordings from incredible musicians in our catalog who present unique and masterful music. Our sale this year will be from Friday, September 3 to Monday, September 6 and will discount all new releases in our catalog. Many labels and artists have increased their recorded output these last two years to compensate for the lost concerts and festivals they would normally be involved with, and recent additions this year have been overwhelmingly excellent. I urge listeners to take advantage of our discounted prices this weekend and pick up some new music, supporting the musicians who are waiting to get back on stage to once again inspire and amaze you.
