From Poland we have the electroacoustic/experimental label Monotype, presenting a great mix of global artists who are on the cutting edge of creative forms.

Their sublabel, Bolt, presents both historic recordings from the Polish Radio Experimental Studio, and new recordings related to the work of that forward thinking, inventive laboratory of sound and compositions.

From Russia we have the Mikroton label, focused on modern electroacoustic improvisation and sound art, with releases that blur the lines between compositions and improvisation.

These three labels provide an outlet for artists to push the creative envelope further, and all three have some of the most vital and important releases in modern music. Take a good look at these albums, but hurry, because this sale ends Sunday, August 6, 2017 at midnight! ^*

We're never quite caught up with new releases that constantly come in our door, and we don't like to rush a release to our homepage. That said, the following releases have already been stocked at Squidco, and are able to be ordered. In most cases we have images, often have samples, and some basic description of each release.

Squidco has been in business as a mail-order store since 2002. In 2010 we opened a storefront in downtown Wilmington, NC, giving customers access to our catalog of more than 7,000 new items, plus hundreds of discounted, used, and promotional items not listed on our website.
