SQUIDCO Creative Sources Cost Sale, May 11, 2017

Creative Sources Cost Sale

Portugal has been a fountain of creative music over the last decade. In particular the labels Clean Feed, Shhpuma, European Echoes, Soopa, Sirr.Records, Ruby Red and Creative Sources have presented established and new artists to a global audience, and many "unknown" artists on these labels have gone on to become well known, releasing significant improvised and creative music for our generation.

Creative Sources has been one of the more consistently experimental of these labels, presenting more outside improvisation, taking chances on music that label founder and violist Ernesto Rodrigues has confidence in. His ear is extraordinarily accurate in adding bands and artists to the label, and the imprint now boasts more than 300 releases, with new releases coming regularly.

At Squidco we're about to add 115 new Creative Sources titles, catching up with the label in a new arrangement that will make it easier for us to remain current with their activities. To celebrate that acquisition, and to make room for it (!) this weekend we're offering 197 Creative Sources on sale at our cost! This is a great opportunity for you to pick up titles from well known artists, but more importantly, to take a chance on interesting albums from lesser known artists. But hurry, because this sale ends Sunday, May 14 at midnight!

In-stock items only, orders must use our shopping cart. Price shown is the discounted price. Sold out items will disappear from the store. Sale ends Sunday, May 14 at midnight EST (GMT-5). Sale items are not eligible for Squidco Reward Points.

Final Weekend!

Squidco Victo 30th Anniversary Sale

In November, 2016 the Victoriaville-based record label Les Disques Victo released Music a Elettronica Viva's Symphony No. 106, recorded live at the 32nd Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville (FIMAV) in May 2016. It was Victo's 129th release, and their 30th year releasing amazing improvised and creative music! Les Dis ques VICTO's inaugural production, Nous Autres by Fred Frith and René Lussier, was recorded live at the 4th edition of FIMAV in October, 1986. As the record label turns 30, The Festival (FIMAV) will present the 33rd edition of it's incredible concert series.

To celebrate Victo's 30th, we've partnered with Victo to offer their catalog at a special savings, with all single CDs priced at $11.95, a $4 savings. The one double CD in the catalog, Peter Brotzmann's Solo + Trio Roma is priced at $17.95, an $8 savings. The sale runs from May 4 - May 14th, and orders will ship approximately two weeks after the sale is completed and Les Disques VICTO has sent us the inventory for the sale. So take advantage of these great prices and explore one of the great labels of live improvisation!

Orders must be placed through our shopping cart. Victo Sale items qualify for Squidco Reward Points. Victo Sale ends Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 11:59 PM EST. Orders will ship approximately two weeks after the Victo Sale ends; we will send out email confirmation when your order ships. Orders with non-sale items will be held until Victo Sale items are in stock.
