Monday, July 4th is Independence Day, the US holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. It's a day to observe and respect the principles of independent liberty and personal rights that are the cornerstones of modern culture. Given the unusual events of this year, it seems more important than ever to consider the intentions of those who struggled for personal freedom, and reflect on how me must continue to protect or secure those freedoms.
Freedom is also applied as a musical concept which has grown over the last two centuries, leading to remarkable new approaches in improvised and composed music, from free jazz to non-idiomatic improvisation, and hybrids of compositional, experimental and improvised music.
This year we are celebrating from Friday July 1st to Monday, July 4th with the discounts listed above. This is the last across-the-board sale we're offering this summer, the remaining sales for the season will focus on labels, sets of albums, and Friends of Squid sales. So take advantage of these discounts, from now until Monday, July 4!
We're never quite caught up with new releases that constantly come in our door, and we don't like to rush a release to our homepage. That said, the following releases have already been stocked at Squidco, and are able to be ordered. In most cases we have images, often have samples, and some basic description of each release.

Squidco has been in business as a mail-order store since 2003. In 2010 we moved to Wilmington, NC, giving regional and visiting customers access to our catalog of more than 7,000 items, which includes hundreds of discounted, used, and promotional items not listed on our website. We're open for you to visit by appointment during weekday afternoons, so if you're in the North Carolina coastal region please email us to set up a time to stop by and say hello, we'd love to play some music for you!
